According to Banbuds, this version of Hypno grew resentful towards humanity because they mocked his former trainer after she committed suicide.
Hypno somehow knows the existence of Daddy Dearest and possibly Mother Mearest. Hypno saying "Hypno wouldn't hurt a fly" during Safety Lullaby could be a nod to how Hypno has a double weakness to Bug-type Pokémon. Despite being male, Hypno has the appearance of a female Hypno with clean and long neck fur, unlike a male Hypno's short and scruffy neck fur. Banbuds has confirmed Hypno is NOT run over in Left Unchecked and is instead focusing all his psychic energy into his pendulum, causing his body to give out. This was likely scrapped due to how fast and jittery his 2nd form animations are. His 2nd form is shown also holding his right hand up as if he was going to still hold it at one point. Hypno's pendulum is a separate sprite from the rest of his body so it can swing in time with the music without being interrupted by his animations. Hypno is the evolved form of a Pokémon named Drowzee. Hypno's portrayal in Hypno's Lullaby, and by extension this mod, are based on Hypno's Pokémon FireRed and X Pokédex entries, which state that there was once an incident of a Hypno taking away a hypnotized child. In Hypno's right and up poses, he seems to be straining himself, as parts of his head separate from the neck cuff, but seems to be fine. Hypno's vocals in his 2nd phase are cut from Hypno's cry in the original Pokémon games. It's also larger than a normal icon from an icon grid (IconGrid spot is 150x150, Hypno's icon is 191x180). Girlfriend was kidnapped by Hypno after Left Unchecked. Girlfriend's sprites were animated by TypicalEmerald, who also animated Anders's sprites from V.S. Despite wearing a hat, Girlfriend's icons are from the base game and are hatless. When she is hypnotized, she appears to foam a little at the mouth, and her eyes turn into a sort of white and lilac vortex. She wears a red beanie with a white trim, and a bluish black jacket (with a right breast pocket) and jeans. So, she has red nails, dress and high heels, and long red hair, but a bit messy. Lullaby Girlfriend wears the same clothes as the original game, only with other clothes on top that closely resemble her mother's design. She is playable in Safety Lullaby and Left Unchecked, until she gets kidnapped for the rest of the mod. Girlfriend is the first playable protagonist in Hypno's Lullaby.
